THE HULK
Don't judge a superhero by its size. The rhinoceros beetle might be small, but it's The Incredible Invertebrate 'cos it can support 850 times its own weight on its back!
SUPERMAN
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Superman! Hold on... it IS a bird. The griffon vulture and common crane can't fly into deep space like the Man of Steel, but they've been recorded flying at over 10km above ground.
BATMAN
Batman uses tricked out gadgets to keep an eye on Gotham, but real bats have in-built tech. They use 'echolocation' to create a sound picture of their surroundings, so their sonar detects tiny insects from 20m away.
THE FLASH
Cheetahs are speed demons. They go from zero to 96km per hour in just three seconds and are the world's fastest land animals over a short distance. Eat their dust!
SPIDER-MAN
Spidey's supa strong webbing isn't just comic book fantasy. In real life, spider silk is stronger than steel and golden orb-web spiders produce the strongest silk of all.
MR FANTASTIC
Snakes are as elastic as Mr Fantastic! They can dislocate their jaw to swallow big prey, then digest it in a stretched stomach. The biggest meal on record was when a 4.87m long python ate a 59kg impala (kinda like a deer). Woah!
